Home

Welcome to the Skill-Pics project. With rapid technological changes taking place in the world today, digital natives are under extreme pressure to keep up-to-date with them. The Skill-Pics project addresses the current global need for employee upskilling by developing a range of educational materials that support them to develop the key transversal skills needed to succeed in their career.

Skill-Pics aims to teach these skills to those who are in employment looking to upskill, or those looking to start their first job after completing formal education.

About

Skill-Pics provides a range of learning materials addressed to young employees, seeking to develop their work-readiness and workplace skills; to increase their future career and employment opportunities.

Skill-Pics learning materials empower young employees to develop their skillset. To support young employees, Skill-Pics proposes a Compendium of Interactive Infographics. Presented as a poster with QR codes, an Interactive Infographic is embedded with links to digital learning materials that encourage users to engage and interact information and learning content through completing
challenge-based learning activities. The Interactive Infographics will address the key transversal skills required by young employees, with each one containing a mixture of different elements including an explainer video, digital breakout challenge, an article, a quiz, or a puzzle, and each Infographic culminating in an WebQuest challenge that will support young employees to apply what they have learned to their own careers.

Throughout the course of the Skill-Pics project, partners will work with and train VET tutors to develop their own resources which they can use to further encourage digital natives to develop their transversal skills. To support VET trainers, Skill-Pics proposes an in-service training programme with the focus on supporting VET trainers to use the Interactive Infographics in their teaching practice, as well as supporting them to develop their own challenge-based learning resources for young
employees and learners.

All of this learning content is to be presented through the Skill-Pics MOOC (Massive Open Online Courseware). This is an online platform, where VET tutors, business support workers, employee relations professionals and young employees can access all of the learning materials developed in the Skill-Pics project.

To ensure the Skill-Pics projects addresses the needs and requirements of participants, an in-service training event will take place in the Czech Republic, in December 2021. Furthermore, a Transversal Skills Development Workshop will be held in Spain, in February 2022, where young employees will have the opportunity to participate in transnational training.

Learning Materials

The Skill-Pics project – Using Interactive Infographics to Promote Problem Based Learning for the Development of Key Transversal Skills – aims to empower young individuals to develop the skillset in order to progress in their career and to support vocational educators to support their own professional development. To achieve these objectives, the Skill-Pics partners are collaborating together throughout the term of the project to produce the following innovative learning materials:

IO1.
Skill-Pics Compendium of Interactive Infographic Transversal Skills Resources

The first learning material proposed by Skill-Pics is a suite of Interactive Infographics, which provide vocational learners who are in employment or looking to develop their skills with a range of challenge-based learning activities, that they can complete at a time that suits them. The following key transversal skills will be addressed in IO1: Digital literacy, entrepreneurship, critical and creative thinking, leadership, innovation, problem solving, teamwork and social impact.

To accompany these Infographics, 16 individual tutor handbooks will support VET trainers to use these interactive infographics in their teaching practice.

IO2.
Skill-Pics In-service training programme

Consisting of 35 hours of learning, the in-service training programme can be used by vocational educators to support their own professional development. Vocational educators will be empowered to develop their own range of educational resources in an online environment.

IO3.
Skill-Pics MOOC

To provide access to the range of educational resources from the Skill-Pics project, partners propose a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Due to the online nature of the resource, participants can access the materials on their smartphones, mobile device or computers.
